grandparents support group
The Grandparents Support group provides support, information, advice and friendship for grandparents of grandchildren with Down syndrome.
After the birth of their grandsons Ethan and Seth, grandparents Wendy
and Tom Beasley and Julie and Frank Boehm co-founded this
grandparent-led support group. The group promotes acceptance and
understanding of Down syndrome in hopes of enriching the lives of
grandchildren so they may reach their fullest potential to lead an
independent life within the community.
The group meets periodically to encourage and strengthen each other by
increasing knowledge, understanding and hope about Down syndrome. Group
members share new information, ideas and advice to become better
advocates to their grandchildren and children. Meetings consist of
group discussions giving grandparents the opportunity to share personal
experiences and get answers to their many questions. Meetings also
include
guest speakers who can provide information on a wide variety of topics
relating to Down syndrome
The Grandparents Support Group is open to
any grandparent impacted by Down syndrome.
There is no fee associated with the meetings. For upcoming meetings
